Abstract

Objective To discuss the value of ultrasonography in X-ray negative patient with closed chest wall injury. Methods Ultrasound was performed in 22 patients with closed chest wall injury who had negative findings by X-ray examination. The subcutaneous soft tissue and ribs were observed. Conclusion Ultrasound can effectively remedy the deficiency of X-ray examination, especially for minor fracture, costal cartilage fracture and soft tissue contusion which X-ray can not show
