Abstract

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography combined with multi-phase enhanced CT scan for hepatic hemangioma. Methods 68 patients with hepatic hemangioma admitted to our hospital from May 2014 to December 2017 were selected as subjects. The results of postoperative pathological examination were used as criteria to analyze the sensitivity and specificity of different examination methods in the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma, and to summarize the image features of hepatic hemangioma in different imaging examinations. Results The sensitivity and specificity of multi-phase enhanced CT scan combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma were 92.8% and 90.6%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of multi-phase enhanced CT scan and contrastenhanced ultrasonography alone(P<0.05). The hepatic hemangioma in contrast-enhanced ultrasonography showed two forms, peripheral inward filling and holistic enhancement with clear edge of the lesion and lacks of regularity. The plain scan of CT showed a slightly lower-density lesion resembling an ellipse with clear boundary. The edge of the lesion in the arterial phase showed patchy enhancement, while in the portal venous phase and in the delayed phase, the lesion showed a packed enhancement. Conclusion Multi-phase enhanced CT scan combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography has higher sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma, which is more conducive to the diagnosis and long-term follow-up of hepatic hemangioma.
