Image Characteristics of Pulmonary Sequestration Enhanced by Multi-slice Spiral CT Scan and Its Related Pathological Features*

Abstract

Objective To explore the image characteristics of pulmonary sequestration, enhanced by multi-slice spiral CT scan , and its related pathological features. Methods 39 patients with pulmonary segregation admitted to our hospital from June 2016 to June 2018 were selected. summarized the image characteristics of the pulmonary sequestration, enhanced scan at three-phase of the multi-slice spiral CT, and analyzed its pathological examination. Results In most patients, the lesions were located in the basal segment of the lower lobe. CT scan showed lumps with mixed density shadow in lungs and soft tissue density with cystic changes in 8 cases. The images showed that there were 4 cases with thin-walled cystic masses, 5 cases with surrounding patchy consolidation or groundglass opacity, and 5 cases with large mixed density. The cystic part of the lesion was not strengthened, the solid part showed obvious enhancement, and the period of delay showed continuous enhancement. The enhancement value of the central low-density area was less than 20 HU. The feeding artery was observed in the continuous layer or reconstructed image, and the diameter of the feeding artery was 4-15mm. Compared with the surgical results, the diagnostic coincidence rate of multi-slice spiral CT in 39 patients with pulmonary isolation was 97.43% (38/39). Conclusion Pulmonary sequestration is characterized by poor dysplasia of the lung tissue and the feeding with abnormal artery. In the multi-slice spiral CT examination, the imaging of Pulmonary sequestration were diversified. For patients not identified as feeding with abnormal artery, a qualitative diagnosis of three-dimensional reconstruction of vascular imaging can be performed.
