PDFAbstract
Objective Purpose to determine the ability of MRI to diagnosis and classification of knee meniscus injury,in order to indicate the surgical procedures. Methods A total of 83 patients were prospectively studied by GE 1.5T MRI and arthroscopy in our hospital, from September 2013 to September 2014.Diagnostic accuracy of MRI for the detection injury of the meniscus was calculated using arthroscopy as the standard of reference. Results Arthroscopy found 60 normal meniscus, 38 unruptured meniscus, 68 meniscus tear;MRI diagnostic grade 0 in 65, grade Ⅰin 11, grade Ⅱ in 14, grade 0 in 56, grade Ⅳ in 20. False positive 4.8% (8/166), false negative7.8% (13/166); Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy,PPV,NPV of MRI for meniscus injury were 87.7%, 86.7%, 87.3%, 92.1%, 80%.There was no statistically significant difference(X2 =0.76,p>0.05). Conclusion MRI represents a highly accurate method for identifying injury of the meniscus,it is a effective screening method before arthroscopic surgery.
