PDFAbstract
Objective To compare the detection rate of carotid artery therosclerosis plaque by means of 16-director spiral CT and 320- director volume CT. Methods 48 patients of ICVD, 22 males and 26 females, with average age of (56±8) years old, were chosen. The patients detected plaques by 16-director spiral CT scans were further performed 320- director volume CT scans, and we compared the detection rate between the two methods. Results The detection rate of carotid artery therosclerosis plaque between 16-director spiral CT scans and 320-director volume CT scans showed no significant difference. Conclusion We recommend utilizing 16-director spiral CT to detect carotid artery therosclerosis plaque for basic hospital, facilitating the clinical diagnosis and treatment
