Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and laparoscopic ureterolithotomy on treatment of middle and lower ureteral calculi. Methods 88 cases with middle and lower ureteral calculi in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected and randomly divided into the control group (44 cases, given laparoscopic ureterolithotomy) and the observation group (44 cases, given ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy). Results Operation time, blood loss of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05), the difference of stone-free rate and calculus recurrence rate after 6 months between the two groups had no statistic significance (P>0.05). Conclusion Ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and laparoscopic ureterotomy have similar effect on treatment of middle and lower ureteral calculi, but the former is better on operation time, blood loss and postoperative recovery, it is more suitable for clinical promotion.
