Hospital Library and Information Service Strategies on Rare Diseases

PDFAbstract
Objective The aim of the study was to introduce the library and information service by which clinicians acquire knowledge on rare disease diagnosis and treatment. Methods In this article, we introduced several main library and information service for rare diseases for clinicians, and analyzed their characteristics and application scopes, and proposed the corresponding strategies that should be adopted in hospitals. Results The main pathways of library and information service for rare diseases for clinicians in hospitals include books, journals, and online databases and search tools. Conclusion Selecting appropriate library and information service strategies on rare diseases is very helpful for clinicians during their diagnosis and treatment practice.
