Abstract

Objective To study the effect of bundled nursing on the time of mechanical ventilation and the incidence of complications in ICU patients with artificial airway. Methods A total of 82 ICU patients with artificial airway in our hospital from Jan. 2013 to Aug. 2015 were taken as the clinical research objects, and they were randomly divided into study group (41 cases) and control group(41 cases). The control group was given traditional nursing, and the study group was given bundled nursing. After nursing, the nursing effects(mechanical ventilation time and ICU hospitalization time assessment), ventilator related complication rates and 30d readmission rates in the two groups were compared. Results The mechanical ventilation time and ICU hospitalization time in the study group were less than those in the control group; the ventilator related complication rate and 30d readmission rate in the study group were respectively 26.83% and 12.20% which were significantly lower than those in the control group, and their differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Bundled nursing can not only obviously shorten the mechanical ventilation time and hospitalization time of ICU patients with artificial airway, but also significantly reduce the ventilator related complication rate and readmission rate.
