Analysis of Diagnostic Significance of Pipelle for Endometrial Pathology

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic significance of Pipelle for endometrial pathology. Methods The patients were recruited to our study from gynecologic clinics for endometrial sampling, from June, 2014 to March 2015. We collected the endometrial tissue by Pipelle and D&C under the instruction of sonography, took the record of pain index and pathologic diagnosis. We analyzed the tolerance and the diagnostic accuracy of Pipelle compared with D&C. Results 92patients were included to our study. The satisfactory sampling rate was83.7%. The coincidence rate of Pipelle was 84.4%.Sensitivity and specificity for normal endometrium, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial atypia and cancer were 93.6% and 63.3%, 40%and 98.6%, 68.8%and 100, 88.9%and 100%. Conclusions Pipelle had the same diagnostic significance for endometrial pathology, and the better tolerance for patients, but limitation for focal neoplasia.
