Abstract

Objective To study the application value of MSCT in the prediction of lung morphology and lung function in the patients with lung volume reduction surgery. Methods 16 patients with LVRS underwent CT and pulmonary function test (PFT) a week before surgery, and reexamined CT and PFT in 6 months after the surgery. The whole lung was scanned in the end of deep inspiration, and the lung density, total lung functional volume, preserved lung functional volume and proposed surgical target area volume were quantitatively measured in the post-processing workstation. Postoperative predicted value was calculated according to the preoperative volume data measured by CT and FEV1.0% and FEV1.0/FVC measured by PFT, and the correlations between predicated value and postoperative data was analyzed. Results The predicted values and the postoperative PFT measured values have good correlation. Conclusion MSCT can intuitively and quantitatively evaluate the range, degree and type of morphological information of LVRS lesions, and can well predict postoperative lung function.
