Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of conventional multi-detector spiral CT with multi-phase enhancement scan in T staging of primary colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods 56 Patients (58 lesions) with CRC, which were confirmed by postoperative pathology, were selected as research subjects. Before surgical operation, all patients were underwent conventional CT multi-phase dynamic enhanced scan. All cases were read by double blind method, and simultaneously each lesions was staged by CT image features (according to the WHO staging TNM 2010 system). The result of CT in T staging were compared with postoperative pathological results. Results Compared with the postoperative pathology, the accuracy rate of CT in T staging of colorectal cancer was 82.8%, and the Kappa value was 0.687 (χ2=6.800, P=0.147, α=0.05). Conclusion Conventional CT multi-phase enhancement scan is a simple and feasible method in the evaluation of T staging of colorectal cancer, and it has a good consistency with pathology.
