Abstract

Objective To explore the value of spiral CT (MSCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRCP) in the diagnosis of chronic cholecystitis. Methods The data of MSCT and MRCT in 50 patients with chronic cholecystitis which confirmed by operation and pathology from 2011 to 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. The diagnostic results of spiral CT and MRCP were compared and analyzed. Results 50 cases of this group of patients with chronic cholecystitis, by spiral CT diagnosis, diagnosed in 37 cases, MSCT on chronic cholecystitis diagnosis rate was 73.3%, the MRCP diagnosis, diagnosis of 44 cases, MRCP on chronic cholecystitis diagnosis rate up to 88%. Thus the diagnostic accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging was significantly higher than that of spiral CT diagnosis, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Conclusion MRCP is superior to spiral CT in the diagnosis of chronic cholecystitis, and it is very important to determine the etiology of chronic cholecystitis by the combination of two methods in clinic.
