Abstract

Objective To investigate the CT findings of gastric leiomyoma. Methods Retrospective analysis for CT data was carried out in 26 patients with gastric leiomyoma (long diameter≥1cm) that was confirmed by surgical pathology. Results Among 26 cases of gastric leiomyoma, the tumor in 24 cases was located at cardia with esophagogastric junction (EGJ) involvement, 2 at gastric body. The tumor showed endo-luminal growth in 22 cases, extra-luminal growth in 1 cases and duplex growth in 3 cases. The long diameter was parallel to the gastric wall in 22 cases. the shape of tumor was regular in 20 cases and irregular in 6 cases. The density of tumor was homogeneous in 26 cases, all showing slightly homogeneous enhancement in the enhancement scan. Conclusion Most gastric leiomyoma with diameter>1 cm was located at cardia and involved the EGJ, cling-to-wall growth with homogeneous density, the enhancement scan showed slightly homogeneous enhancement.
