Abstract

Objective Explore the clinical syndrome, pathological change and characteristic MRI appearance to improve the diagnostic accuracy of central neurocytoma in the lateral ventricles. Methods Retrospectively analyze 12 cases MRI findings of central neurocytoma in the lateral ventricles which proved by pathology. Results All tumors located in lateral ventricles and closed to septum pellucidum, the tumors were mainly solid part, With multiple cystic degeneration, the parenchyma of central neurocytomas showed isointensity on T1WI and T2WI, multiple cystic areas inside, FLAIR sequence showed a lesion with clear edge, irregular shape, isointensity and high signal. The tumors showed mildly inhomogeneous enhancement after enhanced. Obstructive hydrocephalus could be seen. Conclusions MRI has a huge value in diagnosing and distinguishing central neurocytoma, which can help clinicians find the right therapeutic regimen.
