PDFAbstract
Objective To analyze the spiral CT features of AIDS complicated with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) and to improve the diagnostic level of the disease. Methods The imaging data of 19 patients with clinically proven AIDS combined with PCP were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among the 19 cases, 15 cases showed diffuse symmetrical lesions in both lungs, mainly in bilateral hilar periphery, middle and lower lung fields, 16 cases were ground glass opacity. Among them, 3 cases had exudative lesions and fused into patchy consolidation shadow, 6 cases had pulmonary balloon, 4 cases had "lunar arch sign". Extrapulmonary manifestations included 3 hilar or mediastinal enlarged lymph nodes, 2 cases had a small amount of pleural effusion on the left side. Conclusion The spiral CT manifestations of AIDS combined with PCP have certain characteristics. HIV positive patients can consider the establishment of AIDS combined with PCP when excluding other immunodeficiency diseases combined with typical spiral CT imaging manifestations.
