Abstract

Objective To analyze the application value of second-generation dual-source CT low voltage combined with SAFIRE reconstruction technique in orbital scanning. Methods 300 patients with suspected orbital lesions who underwent orbital CT in the hospital from January 20 to August 2018 were selected as study subjects. They were divided into the control group (tube voltage of 120kV, n=98) and low tube voltage group (100kV, n=202) according to the tube voltage. The orbital CT scan results were analyzed retrospectively and compared with clinical diagnosis. Its diagnostic value was analyzed. The average CT value, image noise (SD), signal to noise ratio (SNR), contrast noise ratio (CNR), effective dose (ED) and image quality were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the clinical diagnosis, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the diagnostic coincidence rate, CT values of optic nerve, intraorbital fat and background (air) or image quality (P>0.05). SD and ED of the low voltage group were significantly lower than those of the control group, while SNR and CNR were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of second-generation dual-source CT low voltage combined with SAFIRE reconstruction technique in orbital CT scan may ensure the image quality and reduce the radiation dose.
