Conventional Ultrasound and Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound Findings of Like-solid Hypoechoic Nodular Goiter Nodules

Objective To discuss the findings and the diagnostic values of conventional ultrasound and contrast enhanced ultrasound of like-solid hypoechoic nodular goiter nodules. Methods Analyze retrospectively the characteristics of conventional ultrasound and contrast enhanced ultrasound of 35 like-solid hypoechoic nodular goiter nodules, which were confirmed by cytology or surgical pathology. Results The main characteristics of like-solid hypoechoic nodular goiter nodules include hypoechogencity , hypovascular and no enhanced in contrast enhanced ultrasound. The likesolid area is hemorrhage cystic change in pathology. Conclusions Diagnosis of the atypical hypoechoic nodular goiter nodules should be based on B mode ultrasound, color Doppler ultrasound , and contrast enhanced ultrasound to improve the diagnosis.
