Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of dexmedetomidine combined with sufentanil on postoperative analgesia in patients with trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Methods 60 patients undergoing elective TN surgery in the hospital from January 2015 to January 2017 were enrolled. They were divided into control group and experiment group by random number table method, 30 cases in each group. The control group was given sufentanil for analgesia after surgery. On this basis, the experiment group was additionally given dexmedetomidine for analgesia. The analgesic effect and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The VAS scores of the experiment group at 6h, 12h, 24h and 48h after surgery were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of complication in the experiment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (5.00% vs 18.33%) (P<0.05). Conclusion The curative effect of dexmedetomidine combined with sufentanil is significant on postoperative analgesia in TN patients, with relatively higher safety. Which is worthy of further promotion.
